This is the simple design of laptop stand and it is very useful. When your laptop needs ventilation you need to buy costly fancy commercial stand or you can build one for your own. Many users built several creation of laptop stand to keep their laptop and notebooks elevated while they work. Working on laptop for long time is very difficult for every person because it will be killer on your neck, back and overall posture. So for comfort you need to buy costly fancy commercial stand and whether you build one of your own, it’s your choice. Making your own is best choice you can also adjust height as per your requirement. Laptop stand should raise laptop so that eye level is 1-2 inches below the top of the screen when we sitting up straight. Here I will make one of them. It is made from pvc pipe and plywood sheet.
First step of making a laptop stand is cutting accurate size pipe. I have used ½” pvc pipe, L joint, T joint, Clamp and other material. Here is the picture that will show you all dimension of pvc pipe and other things that is used in this stand. This dimension is as per my requirement you can also change it with your requirement because everyone has different body, different laptop and different requirement. If you work at a sit or stand desk you need to adjust the height of the stand to account for your sitting and standing postures.
Second step is assembly of pvc pipe, joint and plywood sheet. After first step of cutting of pipe it is required to assemble it. We can assemble it directly or using a glue. We can use glue at the joint so the strength of stand is increased. A stand is designed to hold our laptop and it shouldn’t wobble or shake while we are typing and still needs to be stable so it’s necessary to make good quality stand.
Now after assembly of pipe we need to clamp plywood sheet with pvc pipe by clamp and screw.
This is the final step of making of laptop stand. For good looking of stand it’s necessary to finishing and polishing of the stand or we can also paint it. Now the stand is ready to use. This stand is used on desk and also on bed.
